Rainbow Elizabetta Project

Boart Longyear Zambia funds the Rainbow Elizabetta Project in the impoverished and AIDS-stricken Kantolomba district of Ndola, Zambia. The Company purchases medication for terminally ill patients, formula for babies with terminally ill mothers, daily meals for patients and several hundred other orphaned children that have lost parents to AIDS. In addition, books and pens for counseling and education are also provided. In 2008 and 2011 we drilled new water well installations and installed a new water pump to provide clean water and showers.
  

The Royal Flying Doctors

Boart Longyear Asia Pacific is proud to be a corporate sponsor for The Royal Flying Doctors. This Australian not-for-profit charitable service provides aeromedical emergency and primary health care services along with communication and education assistance to people who live, work and travel in regional and remote Australia.
  
Utah first Lego League 
Boart Longyear sponsors the Utah FIRST Lego League promoting science and engineering. FIRST Lego League (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology) is an exciting global robotics and innovation program that develops an enthusiasm for discovery, science, teamwork and technology in kids ages 9 to 14. FIRST Lego League students have the opportunity to solve real-world challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. Teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities, and through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.
  
Utah Food Bank
Boart Longyear Corporate Headquarters held an employee food drive to help restock shelves at the Utah Food Bank. The employee food drive raised over 1,800 pounds of food and $2,700 in donations, which was topped off by an additional $5,000 from the company. In total, Boart Longyear was able to help the Utah Food Bank provide almost 30,000 meals for needy families in the state of Utah. The Utah Food Bank provides food to a state-wide network of 154 emergency food pantries and agencies.

Boart Longyear is a proud sponsor of The Leonardo, an educational interactive science and art museum located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. This museum is best described as a contemporary Science + Technology + Art museum with a mission to “inspire creativity and innovation through a trans disciplinary fusion of art, science and technology”.
